DeSanits declares state of emergency
Governor Ron DeSantis has announced a state of emergency for 49 of Florida's 67 counties, following the passage of tornados and strong storms across the state.
The severe weather caused widespread damage, including building destruction, fallen power lines and trees, power outages, and significant damage to an RV park.
In response to the impending storms, DeSantis, who had returned to Florida to deliver the State of the State address, activated the Florida State Guard.
In his executive order, DeSantis stated that the current conditions are expected to result in a major disaster, prompting the declaration of a state of emergency.
